ABOUT ANGELS OF JUSTICE
Angels of Justice is a reading group founded by Rafaela Loera Gamboa inside of FCI Otisville to study history, sociology and movements. Through study the collective advances shared understandings of how to resist the FBOP while fostering community. Read more about the principles of The Angels of Justice and Rafaela's organizing in her Newsletter and Inhumanness Abolition Plan. The group is requesting study material donation, curriculums and monetary donations

All nonfiction books are welcome, those discussing history, social and political theory, languages, law, math, and science are preferred. All books sent to a federal prison must be through third party vendors such as a website or bookstore. If you wish to send in a book you own, make it returnable to a local library/school reading group, bookstore, community center or nonprofit. Essays and zines are also encouraged! The FBOP has relatively (emphasis on relatively) lenient censorship so most texts can get through. A rule of thumb is material on prison breaks and riots will be harder if not impossible to get through. Rafaela loves making new friends through letter writing, however due to the dire circumstances within Otisville she does not have time to reply to everyone. Letter writing is still encouraged, and continue to send reading material even if she does not reply. Know that your support and letters mean the world to Rafaela. Be mindful that guards will read your mail (see below for more letter writing tips).  Any email to Angelsofjusticeagainstpic@gmail.com will be printed and mailed to Rafaela and any response will be transcribed and emailed back to the sender. Sign up for the email list below to receive future newsletters and updates on how you can support those incarcerated at FCI Otisville

Keeping money on Lorea's books is essential for her survival. She also looks out for her friends and comrades with this money, it will not go to waste and is needed.
TIPS WHEN SENDING LETTERS
Always remember to print the prisoner number on the envelope. Include your return address on your letter not just the envelope if you wish to receive a response. Number your pages and list anything else inside the envelope you sent or other packages. This way if a page or item is missing everyone can be made aware of it.  Keep in mind the correspondence is being read by her captors and your words will be used against her.  Do not make commitments you cannot keep, trust is paramount. Please do not let this keep you from writing! Rafaela absolutely wants to hear from you. If she does not reply you should write a different person incarcerated (see tab on other ways to contact people in prison).
